A hidden treasure in Stansted is extending a warm welcome to anyone over the age of 55. Conveniently located adjacent to the public car park, the Stansted Mountfitchet Day and Community Centre in Chapel Hill has been an active part of the village for over 30 years for both residents and visitors alike.

Based in the delightful setting of Jubilee Gardens, ideal for enjoying a coffee with friends after shopping. The Garden Room is open to anybody over 55 and serves breakfasts from 9am, coffees, freshly baked snacks from 10am-1.30pm and freshly prepared lunches are available if booked by 11am. 

Want to spend fun evenings out with like-minded people but not sure where to go? The Dunmow Flitch Friendship Club is for anyone aged 50 years & over. We meet every 1st Thursday of the month at The Rowena Davey Centre for live music/dancing, bingo, raffles and refreshments.

Prior to 1923, groups of ladies with Rotary Club connections were meeting to support those less fortunate than themselves at that time when social care and support were negligible in society. In 1926 these groups formed a countrywide organisation and named it Inner Wheel.
