Last weekend Debden Branch RBL celebrated Burns Night with a traditional supper held in Parrishes Wine Bar and Restaurant in Thaxted. The menu included the obligatory Haggis accompanied by ‘neeps and tatties’. The haggis was piped in to great applause by Lt Col (Retd) Jackie Allan and formally addressed in true Scots fashion by Major Mark Burgess RE from nearby Carver Barracks.

*Jessica Allen responds with a ‘Toast to the Laddies’.

The “Toast to The Lassies” was proposed by Steven Flood , senior partner at Mercer and Hughes, the local Veterinary Surgeons, and the response “Toast to The Laddies” was given by Jessica Allen.

An Auction of Promises at the end of the Supper raised a staggering £750 for the RBL Welfare Fund.
