Having been elected to the post of Chairman of Essex County Royal British Legion in January 2016, Colonel Roger Burgess, a member of the local Debden Branch RBL, completes his 3 year tenure in post this coming January and will be replaced by Major David Swann.

During his 3 years in post, Essex County RBL has won the prestigious RBL National Maurice Cup Trophy every year consecutively as the most efficient RBL County in UK.

Asked to comment on his success as Chairman, Roger Burgess replied “it has been a most satisfying challenge and I was extremely fortunate to have been supported throughout by a very strong team on the County Committee”.

He then added that “I am looking forward to having more time to devote to my own Branch at Debden as a member.”
