Annual Remembrance Parade

Debden Branch RBL held its Annual Remembrance Parade on Friday 10th November this year so that the pupils at Debden Primary School could participate.

The parade formed up in front of the YUVA Nepalese Restaurant as usual where a short service was held before proceeding the the Memorial at the Village Hall nearby. The pupils from Debden Primary School laid a Wreath and each pupil then read out the name of one of the Debden residents that fell in WW1 and WW2.

*Each of the pupils read out the name of one of the fallen from WW1 and WW2 and placed a cross beneath the Memorial.

*The Service was conducted by the Vicar of Debden.

*Wreaths were laid at the Church Memorial by Debden Branch RBL, Debden Parish Council, the RE Units based at nearby Carver Barracks.

Wreaths were also laid by the Parish Council, Debden Branch RBL and an Officer from the RE(EOD) units based in nearby Carver Barracks.

Many of the children attending had parents serving with the RE Bomb Disposal units in Carver Barracks. Before the parade, Mr Stewart Luck, the Branch Poppy Appeal Organiser (PAO), visited the School to talk to the pupils involved about the significance of 'Remembrance.'

*‘Last Post’ & ‘Reveille’ were sounded by 2 local Cubs from Debden Primary School, while the Collection was taken by 2 ATC Cadets.
