Haslingfield 4 : 5 TRFC Reserves
A Steve Evans hat trick secures first win for the ressies on September 19.
Haslingfield came out all guns blazing following their previous two heavy defeats resulting in TRFC going 3 down within 20 minutes. The first came from a long ball from the back, directed to their only real threat up front.
The second quickly followed from a free kick on the edge of the box causing the goalkeeper to misjudge the delivery and provide an invitation to shoot from close range.
Their third came from another long ball over the top which was dispatched with venom into the top left hand corner of the net from 18 yards.
With a change of attitude and commitment, TRFC took the game to the opponents and were able to maintain possession and switch the ball from sideline to sideline.
Evans first came from a free kick on the edge of the box placed low and wide of the diving keeper.
His, and TRFC's second, came following good work down the left flank and a decent cross allowed Evans to slide in from close range.
TRFC grew from strength to strength and piled on the pressure causing difficulties for the Haslingfield defence both in the air from set pieces and shots going just wide.
Potter was awarded a penalty after being upended past the horizontal more likely to be seen on a rugby field.
Evans stepped up and calmly dispatched the spot kick to complete a well deserved hat trick.
