The Joy Of Christmas
Amici Cantate Return To Thaxted

Bishop’s Stortford based choir, Amici Cantate, is delighted to be returning to the stunning setting of Thaxted Parish Church on Saturday, 10th December for “The Joy Of Christmas” - a  special concert in aid of St. Clare Hospice featuring The Imperial Male Voice Choir and Thaxted Primary School Choir.

For this concert the choirs will be joined by Andrew Wilson (Baritone), Rachel Wick (Harp) and Alan Tait (Cello). The concert will be directed by John Tripp, Deborah Miles-Johnson and Maggi Griffiths and accompanied by Charlie Penn (organ, piano), Leanne Singh-Levett (piano) and Graham Instrall (percussion).

The programme promises a full and unique performance of Britten's "A Ceremony of Carols”, Vaughan-Williams' "Fantasia on Christmas Carols”, plus traditional carols with audience participation and many other Festive favourites!

The performance of Britten’s classic piece will be unique as it combines the forces of a high young voice choir, an adult SATB choir and a large Male Voice Choir, comprising about 120 singers in total definitely an evening not to be missed!

The Joy Of Christmas takes place at Thaxted Parish Church on Saturday, 10th December, at 7pm.

Tickets cost £10 (adult), £5 (Under-16’s) or just £20 for a family of 2 adults plus 2 kids. They are available by calling 01279 506773, via email or online from ticketsource.co.uk/amicicantate.

We are sure that the warmth and affection between the choirs will combine to make this a memorable and uplifting concert for all the family - don’t leave it too late to book!
