Amici Cantate Concert
O Fortuna!

Bishop’s Stortford based choir, Amici Cantate, will be travelling to Chelmsford on Saturday 30 June (7.30pm) to perform for the very first time in the beautiful setting of Trinity Methodist Church (CM1 2XB). The choir will present “O Fortuna!” in aid of the wonderful local charity, Essex Respite and Care Association.

The uplifting programme will feature extracts from Carl Orff’s thrilling Carmina Burana, Moreton Lauridsen’s O Magnum Mysterium, The Circle of Life from The Lion King and many more choral favourites from across the globe! The concert will be directed by John Tripp and accompanied by the fabulous Michael Smith and Susie Savage (Piano) and Graham Instrall (Percussion).

Over the last five years the choir has raised over £12,000 for the various worthy causes it supports and is delighted to be performing this time in support of Essex Respite and Care Association, an organisation  that supports adults in Essex with a mental health diagnosis to engage in activities such as bowling, snooker, shopping, swimming and many other leisure activities in the community.

They also give care receivers encouragement and coaching in life skills, decision making, and achieving personal goals, and support carers of people suffering from serious mental illness (including Alzheimer’s disease) by giving them valuable respite time to recharge their batteries and at the same time provide activities for the person with the mental health diagnosis.

The Cantate concert promises to be a very special evening indeed so do go along and help us them raise the roof of Trinity Methodist Church and raise as much as possible for such an inspiring local cause. There will also be a raffle during the course of the evening.

Tickets cost just £12 (adult) and £6 (Under-16s) and are available by calling 01279 506773, emailing tickets@amicicantate.org.uk or online at ticketsource.co.uk/amicicantate. They are also available in person at Trinity Methodist Church.
