Saffron Walden’s CFR’s are all volunteers who respond to 999 calls in Saffron Walden and the surrounding areas on behalf of the East of England Ambulance Service. Activated to attend emergency calls at the same time that an ambulance resource is dispatched, they often arrive first because they're so close!

Thaxted Fire Station has been in Bardfield Road for approximately 55/60 years. It is served by local people working hard to help keep safe the very large area which it covers, including Thaxted and a dozen other local villages. Fires, floods, traffic accidents - each year calls are on the increase!
