Formed in 1878, the Thaxted Cricket Club is situated on the picture-perfect lawns of Bardfield End Green. Surrounded by country houses & fields, the playing and spectating area could not be more English! If you are looking for a local club to join please come along, have a drink and meet us.

Friendly netball club which trains Tuesday evenings 8-9pm at Newport Free Grammar school. Training sessions and teams are open to all abilities and ages, currently range from 16-45+. First session is free. The club is about fun and enjoyment as much as fitness and competition!

In 1998 a small group of like minded individuals lead by Mick Potter formed what is now Thaxted Rangers YFC. At that first training session in September only 6 boys turned up - since then the club has gone from strength to strength and there are now over 200 boys and girls registered!

Get yourself ready to rumble and come and have a go at the Non-Contact Boxing at Thaxted Youth Club. For boys and girls aged 11 - 18, the sessions are all about fun, fitness and fancy footwork and, because it's non-contact, you get to do the moves without ending up with a bruise!
