Thaxted Gardening
And Craft Show 2018

We invite everyone who lives in and around Thaxted to join us at the Thaxted Gardening & Craft Show on the 15th & 16th September, 2018. It’s easy, fun and free to enter and visit! Download our Schedule / Entry Form >

Hundreds of people enter and visit the Thaxted Gardening & Craft Show every year and keep coming back for more, again and again.

Last year there were nearly 700 items entered in the Show and several hundred people visited during the weekend - and every year we, the organisers and the contributors, just love it when a new entrant or visitor tells us “Why didn’t I do this before?”!

People come to the Show for friendly rivalry and, increasingly, to meet others with similar interests and to learn from each other, share ideas, learn from the feedback from the judges or get ideas for a new hobby or interest.

We are all lucky to live in our wonderful Essex villages and our local Show is one of those time honoured traditions that helps to foster that community spirit.

Over the last few years, we have introduced the Great Thaxted Bake Off and the Hobbies Section now includes both digitally enhanced and traditional photography as well as traditional crafts like quilting.

Most sections have special classes for Novice entrants so those who have only recently got into vegetable growing, wine making, quilting, gardening or flower arranging can compete against each other.

For the last few years we have been delighted to have the support of Thaxted Primary School and now every pupil prepares a piece of creative work at school for display in the Show - and a growing number are entering in the Children’s Classes for which there is also prize money!

This year the Show will be held on 15th & 16th September in The United Reformed Church.

Download our Schedule / Entry Form today and get planning your trophy-winning campaign and make sure you follow us on Facebook and join our email list to keep up with the latest.

You will also be able to pick up a printed Schedule in The Guildhall Stores, Wayletts, Saracens or the Community Information Centre.

We wish you all a successful growing and making season and look forward to seeing you all at the Show in September!
