Welcome to Thaxted Tennis Club. We are a friendly club located in the picturesque town of Thaxted. We have two floodlit Astroturf courts and a comfy clubhouse so come and join us. Involved in both match and social tennis, we have a variety of active members. If you have just moved to the area or are getting back into tennis you are welcome to come down on any of the social tennis sessions to join in and see if you like it.

Thaxted Tennis Club has teams entered in various leagues which allows members to play matches against other clubs. These give members the opportunity to visit other clubs and enjoy varying levels of competition. The Small Clubs League covers Ladies, Mens and Mixed matches in three divisions. All members are welcome and encouraged to play and the matches are usually competitive but fun.

We also play in the Halstead League which offers a similar format but against teams who are slightly further afield. Our club evenings are a perfect opportunity to play and meet other members and enjoy some exercise or brush up on some techniques – everyone is welcome.

And if you need some coaching to improve your skills, licenced coach Marc Squire provides a full service.

We run social Tennis on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 7 to 10pm where everyone is welcome. If you are thinking of joining then please feel free to come down to one of those sessions. Non-members are welcome to attend for 2 sessions before joining. We also run a women’s only session on Saturday afternoons from 2 to 4pm and a men’s only session from 4 to beer o’clock.
