music@stansted has been putting on concerts and recitals by world-class musicians in Stansted Mountfitchet since 1996.

Run by a small team of local volunteers, it gives local music lovers the opportunity either to subscribe to a season of four concerts a year at significantly reduced rates, or to pay at the door for the individual events that take their fancy.

Performers range from chamber orchestras such as the English Chamber Orchestra and the Kammerphilharmonie Europa, through string quartets and instrumental duos to individual performers such as harpists and guitarists.

Internationally-renowned names such as Catrin Finch, Charles Owen and Jack Liebeck have all appeared in the friendly atmosphere of St. John's Church, as well as many up-and-coming young professional musicians on their way to an international career.

music@stansted even organises special concerts from time to time given by promising youngsters from local schools and colleges, giving them invaluable experience as well as delighting our audience.

Our commitment to young people extends to offering free entry to all concerts for under-18s, while adults tickets are competitively priced.

Those who choose to subscribe for a whole season enjoy a discount of a third off the full ticket price!
