Thaxted
Baptist Church

The story of Thaxted Baptist Church started in 1832 when a small group of Baptist men and women met together for the worship of God in a barn at Water Lane (now Watling Lane).

Shortly after this, land was purchased in Park Street for the construction of the dedicated building you see today.

The Church aims to bring the saving message of the Gospel to further God's Kingdom to the historic town of Thaxted and beyond.

We join together in a relaxed and largely informal way providing a safe place for worship with a warm and family-friendly atmosphere. Visitors are most welcome to join us!

There are always projects under the way at the Church, ranging from fundraising events to building restoration.
