Husband and wife team Richard and Sophie Box always dreamed of combining their respective talents and now that dream is a reality, but it's been a long road to get to where they are today.

"Fate definitely seemed to be against us" Sophie admits, "especially when it came to finding the right premises." Through shear determination and patience, however, they eventually secured their

prime location and it was all hands to the pumps to prepare the salon for its grand opening.

"We had 6 weeks and a minimal budget to turn what was an office into a beautiful vintage salon. We worked long hours, turning our hands to every trade imaginable!"

The hard work has been well worth it though. The business has thrived since its launch and, with the introduction of stylists Laura Mahoney and Kelly Ward, is ready for its next stage of development.

In fact, 22 Town Street is already so much more than a salon, with a highly successful vintage pop-up shop event being staged late last year (click here for photos). A glimpse of the future then, Sophie?

"Definitely! We want both 22 Town Street Barbers and Ladies At 22 to be fun experiences, not just a plain old haircut, so expect more vintage and social events."
