The cinema, which opened in 2006, is recognised as being one of the biggest assets for the town and surrounding area and, due to its nature as a not-for-profit organisation, works to keep ticket and refreshment prices low, offers free parking and shows a wide selection of films and special events.

The quality of its screen and sound is comparable to that of a multiplex and its projection team were the first to be awarded projection certification in the UK. Saffron Screen is run by a part time staff of 16 and an army of volunteers and relies on advertising, sponsorship and fundraising to supplement ticket sales and assist with its development, growth and community projects.

Rebecca del Tufo, Saffron Screen’s Business Manager said: “A quarter of a million audience members is an incredible milestone for us to have reached in less than eight years and we want to say a huge thank you to all of our customers for helping us to reach this point and for making Saffron Screen what it is today!"
