Walk This Way
80's Comeback For Hospice Fundraiser

Eighties icons from music, television and the movies are the inspiration for the St Clare Hospice fundraising team's next big event.

The Midnight Walk, taking place on June 28th, will be a riot of neon leg-warmers and ra-ra skirts as the fancy dressers go all out for charity!

The 80s fun night takes place at the Water Gardens, with 80s music

and entertainment from 8pm before the walk gets underway at 9.30pm.

In a bid to inspire participants with their costume ideas, some of the fundraising team were transformed into their favourite 80s idols, including Adam Ant and Cher, with help from the Fancy Dress Boutique in Old Harlow.

St Clare communications and marketing assistant Eleanor Scotchbrook said: "From the New Romantics to punk, the 80s was a fantastic decade for iconic fashion, hair and make-up so we are expecting our Midnight Walkers to dress to impress!"

"Whether it is a power suit with huge shoulder pads or acid wash denim with a stack of neon bangles, there is so much to take inspiration from and we cannot wait to see what costumes people come up with."

More than 450 people have already signed up for the Midnight Walk, which is sponsored by Harlow’s NWES enterprise hub.
