Let’s get something straight - you don't have to be a farmer to be a young farmer! Don’t believe us? Then get down to the Ashdon & Saffron Walden Young Farmers New Members Night on September 27th!

You do have to be young though - 16 to 26 is the age group and anyone who fits the bill is welcome.

Of course, if you ARE a farmer then great but Ash & Saff members come from all walks of life, from students to carpenters to accountants to teachers - all with a healthy passion for the countryside, rural life and having fun with friends.

There really is something for everyone with a varied programmes diary that includes anything from bowling or a cookery class to a farm visit or a tour round a local business. The Club meets every Tuesday with different activity planned for each week.

The members are also kept busy with various fundraising activities for deserving local and national causes.

Money is raised through numerous events including the annual Christmas tree collection, charity clay shoot and harvest supper.

The New Members Night takes place at the King’s Arms in Saffron Walden on Tuesday September 27th (from 7.30pm). Existing members will be on hand to tell you more about what they do and there are various activities planned throughout the evening so you can get stuck in straight away.
