Season Of Good Will
Saffron Screen Festive Fundraiser

Over £1100 was raised for Uttlesford Foodbank at screenings of Ken Loach’s film I, Daniel Blake at Saffron Screen between the 10th-18th December, with audiences giving generously in the season of good will!

The generosity of audiences was partly due to the film’s subject matter which highlights the rise of foodbanks and stresses the plight of thousands of normal families living below the poverty line in the UK, including many in Uttlesford.

Sophie Durlacher of Uttlesford Foodbank said: “We are utterly overwhelmed by the generosity of the people who gave to our collections at I, Daniel Blake. Along with the profits from the special screening we will have made over £1,100!”

“This is a truly staggering amount for a charity as small as ours. It will enable us to create all the materials we need to put together a ‘roadshow’ so we can get out into the community & reach people who otherwise can't access services and also mean we can meet our running costs without worry.”

“We're so grateful to Saffron Screen for the opportunity this has afforded us and we are excited about the number of people we're going to be able to help in 2017 as a result.”
