Medieval Siege And Fair
At Hedingham Castle

Villainy is afoot and Hedingham Castle is under threat!

Choose your allegiance and rally your fellow supporters as the Medieval Siege Society returns with men-at-arms, archers, siege engines, living history and bloodthirsty mayhem!

Following the arming of the knights there will be a swashbuckling set-piece battle and desperate skirmishes making up the most authentic medieval battle this side of the 15th Century!

Meander amongst the bustle of the camp where you will experience a unique taste of life in the high medieval period, warts and all. You’ll also be able to test your weapon skills at the archery range.

Even the most grizzled of soldiers needs to unwind after a hard day’s bloodshed and, of course, there is a lighter side to camp life for you to explore.

You’ll have the opportunity to meet the magnificent birds of prey from Coda Falconry, dance round the maypole to celebrate the coming of summer, take a leisurely donkey ride around the ancient Norman Keep then pop inside and explore (guided tours available).

Grown-ups will have plenty to keep them amused too - there will be craft stalls, real ale and lots of delectable food stalls.

The Medieval Siege and Fair takes place on Sunday 30th April and Monday 1st May, from 10am 'til 5pm - arrive early and enjoy unmissable Bank Holiday fun for all the family!
