The REAL Family Fun Day comes back to Saffron Walden Football Club on Sunday, April 30th (12.30 - 5pm), for a 5th year which promises to be bigger, better and best of all - it’s fully accessible, no-strings-attached free entry for 2017!
The event was originally started as a memorial Celebrity and Ex-Professional football match for Ethan Linwood, whose family set up a charity in his memory at the beginning of 2013.
Over the years, stars such as Jeff Brazier, Elliot Wright and George Gilbey have come along to play for Ethan’s All Stars in the main football match. Many of The Only Way Is Essex cast have supported the event alongside many ex-professionals including Paul Terry, Leo Roget, Stuart Wardle and Jamie Cureton.
Matt Goullee, who organises the Ethan All Stars for this annual match against Saffron Walden Legends, says “I’ve started the Tweeting and Facebook messaging now and already have some fantastic interest. We will be keeping the REAL Facebook Page up to date with the stars who are playing as and when they confirm so make sure you follow us!”
The annual event has grown over the last 5 years and is now a family day that that hundreds attend. The afternoon football match is just a part of a bigger day which comprises a massive Inflatable Fun Zone and Scotty’s Circus workshop which will be on hand to teach all ages how to walk on stilts, spin plates and other essential circus skills!
There will be live music played throughout the day along with dance performances, face painting and balloon modelling. You can also test your football skills in the shooting competition and, to ensure everyone keeps their strength up for the festivities, there will be cake stalls, sweet stalls, ice cream and candy floss!
On top of that, the football club will be serving burgers and hot dogs and the licensed bar will be open throughout the day.
Monies raised through charitable donations on the day will go to help young people in the Uttlesford area through several different initiatives that REAL operate.
