Trees, Flowers And Sunshine!
Saffron Walden Stroke Club Outing

Twelve members of the Saffron Walden Stroke Club took full advantage of the glorious Autumn blue skies and sunshine on their recent visit to the beautiful Botanical Gardens in Cambridge.

The Club supports local people who have suffered a stroke, with their rehabilitation and reintroduction into the community, and this type of sociable, stimulating outing is all part of the volunteers’ comprehensive and helpful offering.

Getting to the Gardens involved an easy ride on the Community Bus and, once there, the Club members enjoyed easy wheelchair and motorised scooter access, enabling them to mingle (and get a little lost!) viewing the vast collection of trees, shrubs and flowers.

Everything looked extremely beautiful in the September sunshine and everyone had a lovely day - great company and a happy, memorable occasion for all!

The Saffron Walden Stroke Club are actively encouraging new members to join - why not pop in and see them? They meet at The Lord Butler Leisure Centre on Tuesdays between 2pm and 3pm, where they have a very informal social hour open to stroke sufferers, their families and carers.

The Club offers support via Registered Exercise Professionals using the Leisure Centre's equipment and more outings and social gatherings are planned for the future.
