Dunmow Soap Stars
Set to Race In 2019

After an extremely successful event last year, Great Dunmow Round Table is to host the second Great Dunmow Soapbox Race in 2019. Up to 60 teams will battle it out to be crowned champion on Sunday 26th of May. Expect to see jumps, near misses and some spectacular crashes all to raise money for incredible causes!

2018 saw crowds of up to 6,000 people cheering on 35 courageous teams who raced against the clock to be in the chance of winning first prize. The race was a runaway success and saw families from Dunmow and across Essex come to enjoy a free day of sunshine, soapbox, craft stalls and other entertainment.

The money raised from the event goes directly to Great Dunmow Round Table, a charity made up of men aged 18 - 45 who voluntarily hold fundraising events for local charities and causes including schools, clubs and individuals who need a helping hand.

Over the past 10 years the charity has raised over £250,000 for the local community through events such as fireworks night, Santa’s sleigh and concert nights.

Next year's event will be bigger and better with more challenging obstacles, a faster course and maybe a water based jump. A giant screen will be broadcasting the races for everyone can see and more entertainment will be available for people of all ages.

The event will remain FREE for spectators making it a brilliant family day out like no other. It will simply be a must-see day out!

The Great Dunmow Soapbox Race organisers are currently looking for daring schools, businesses, clubs and members of the public to take part in the 2019 event. If you think you have what it takes, early-bird entry is open until the 31st of December. Early-bird entry costs £40 per team of four: enter at greatdunmowsoapboxrace.co.uk.
