Thaxted Public Garden
Clarence House Conservation Project

The Clarance House Conservation Garden in Margaret Street, Thaxted, is blooming after opening its gates to the public back in April for its first summer season.

Recently taken over from Essex County Council by the Thaxted Parish, the plan is an ongoing development to create a serene natural environment that attracts wildlife, residents and visitors in equal measure.

Clarance House Conservation Garden in Thaxted

It's a fantastic place to while away an hour or two on a sunny day and the working group responsible for the design and upkeep of the Garden are also hoping to organise a few family-orientated events throughout the summer to really make the facility an integral part of the community.

Volunteers are always welcome and there will be frequent working parties performing the range of jobs that are needed to develop this new community resource.

Upcoming volunteer days are on Wednesdays (8th & 22nd July, 12th & 26th August) from 7pm - 9pm and Sundays (19th July, 2nd, 16th August) from 10.30am - 1pm.

It's a great way to get some fresh air and excercise while contributing to a fresh new community resource so why not get involved?

For more information, please email the working group or call them on 01371 831193.

The Clarance House Conservation Garden will be open every weekend between April and September, 10am and 5pm, and everyone is invited to come and enjoy it.
