Last week the Star Pub at Mill End, Thaxted, hosted its first Christmas Market. The idea was the brainchild of Rebecca Huggins who took over the running of the pub with her fiancée, Iain Chinery, in February this year.

The winners of the Uttlesford District Council Chairman’s Christmas Card and Poetry Competition have received their prizes. Every primary school in the district was invited to take part in the competition which received over 100 entries.

Following the success of our last three Christmas Tree festivals in 2014, 2015 and Thaxted Parish Church will be holding its third Christmas Tree Festival over the weekend of Friday, Saturday and Sunday 15, 16 & 17 December 2017.

Coro Stellante, the Norfolk based ladies choir, return to Thaxted Parish Church on Sunday, 26 November, with a host of special guests to present a sumptuous programme of European music from the 15th-17th century - The Glories of the Renaissance, music for choir, cornetti & trombones.
